Welcome to Major Oak and Castle, our mixed Year 1 and Year 2 classes. Major Oak is taught by Miss Walters, and Castle is taught by Miss Walker. In our classrooms, we aim to create a welcoming and supportive environment where every child feels valued and ready to learn. We encourage children to ask questions, explore new ideas and take pride in their achievements as they develop their confidence and independence.

Through a range of learning experiences, children build their knowledge and skills, learn to work together and discover new interests. We celebrate effort, kindness and perseverance, helping children understand that making mistakes and trying again are valuable parts of learning. We also value working closely with families to support each child’s progress.

Our Learning This Term

This term, our topic is ‘Fire, Fire!’, in which we will explore the Great Fire of London, discovering how it started, why it spread and how it changed the city.
